- Our client, a privately owned and operated agribusiness based on the Darling Downs, is a brand synonymous with high quality and superior products. Originally a small farming operation, they have grown to become Australia’s largest producers of free-range protein products. As they continue to expand throughout Queensland and the eastern sea board, they have identified the need for a Sales Specialist to join their growing team in support of their protein production operations._
**Position Focus**:
- Conduct Demand Planning and Forecasting in collaboration with the Managing Director, to identify and plan current and future demand;
- Develop and maintain a Sales Forecast in collaboration team members;
- Conduct Market Research to identify and investigate new potential demand opportunities within Queensland and other States, to client groups including (but not limited) gourmet butchers, high end restaurants and quality butcher franchises;
- Work closely with the Managing Director and Marketing team to develop and implement a sales strategy that will optimise sales for the company's products;
- Develop relationships with existing and potential customers to drive demand for the company’s products;
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the value chain to ensure effective production and processing schedules;
- Prepare specification sheets for the abattoir boning room to maximise yield for the conversion of whole carcasses to broken product
- Promote the company’s values through their ‘Paddock to Plate’ initiatives.
**Skills and Experience**:
- At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in business-to-business protein sales, business development and/or customer relationship management;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; excellent customer engagement skills and excellent negotiation skills;
- Tertiary Degree or Diploma in Business, Supply Chain or Marketing. Marketing experience.
- Ability to work autonomously; well-developed self-management abilities including time management and work practices
- Proven protein sales track record, preferably within the FMCG industry an advantage;
- Well-developed networks in the fresh food retail sector highly desirable;
