Charter Operations Manager

Expressions of interest are sought for a suitably qualified and highly motivated person as the Charter Operations Manager at Pel-Air Head Office in Mascot, NSW.
**_ Reporting:_**
This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
**_ Duties and Responsibilities:_**
Administrative / Operations oversight
- Leading and managing the Pel-Air Operations team.
- Managing and coordinating disruption and emergency responses, as required.
- Providing shift coverage for staff leave in the Pel-Air Operations team, as required.
- Conducting staff training.
- Coordinating all related effort to set up and organise charter flights.
- Keeping operational information and documents current, and ensuring the quality and timeliness of reports generated by the Pel-Air Operations team.
- Ensuring high performance of Key Performance Indicators for the charter operations.
- Ensuring crew currencies and training allocation.
- Generating rosters for charter and freight pilots.
- Facilitating coordination with the Rex mainline operations teams.
- Assisting with other tasks as directed by the General Manager Flight Operations and the Chief Operating Officer.
Business development
- Having oversight over commercial quotes and responding to charter enquiries, including generating quotations.
- Managing charter client relationships.
- Embarking on business development activities, including meeting clients.
- Coordinating the brokerage of aircraft and liaising with third party aircraft operators, as necessary.
**_ Key Selection Criteria:_**
- Ability to lead and instruct staff
- Previous supervisory experience
- Able to work and take calls at varying hours when needed to address operational or staff matters
- Able to work well within a team environment
- Able to offer shift support, including weekends, for shift cover
- Problem solving skills and capable of lateral thought
- Ability to maintain efficiency and accuracy under pressure
- High level of organisation skills with ability to prioritise
- Computer literacy of a high degree
- Fluent English, written and spoken
- Previous experience in Crewing, Operations and Charter Sales in an aviation environment will be advantageous
