**ABOUT THE ROLE**

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play an important role in supporting and empowering People with disability to live independently in the community and to achieve their individual goals.

We are looking for experienced Disability Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living team.

These roles will be based in Kellyville and will require successful applicants to be available and willing to work within a 24/7 roster that includes regular shift work, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays.

You will be responsible for ensuring that people you are supporting have meaningful engagement with the community in all its forms and ensuring their complex needs are being met.

You will be providing direct care to the clients and performing activities including, but not limited to:

- Personal care
- Respite (including recreational activities);
- Transporting to/from appointments and day programs;
- Cleaning/domestic assistance;
- Meal preparation;
- Shopping.
- Medication administration

We are looking for people from all different background who have:

- Certificate III in Disability, Community Services or similar
- Extensive experience in providing direct care to people with complex Mental health needs, preferably within a supported accommodation setting, people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours;
- Understanding of Person-Centred plans, Behaviour Support plans and Health Care plans;
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implication for clients;
- High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Demonstrated high level communication skills;
- Possession of a NSW Driver’s License
- Ability to work flexible hours and willingness to work a variety of shifts across a 24/7 roster including weekends, nights and public holidays
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $34.00 - $70.00 per hour
