**How will I help?**
We're looking for an Executive Manager, Governance & Regulatory Engagement - Consumer who'll proactively identify, manage, mitigate, and monitor risks for our Consumer Division, including Consumer Transformation, through key risk management programs. This role is essential in ensuring that our risk attestations, risk appetite, and key risk indicators development and reporting are accurate and complete. You'll lead a team of dedicated risk professionals who support the Division and its Executive Office in all aspects of Risk Governance.
Your responsibilities will include preparing, reviewing, and submitting risk papers for Risk Committees, including those for the Board and Director Risk Touchpoints when required, as well as the COO Risk Forum. You'll ensure that all submissions are accurate and complete, and you'll provide executive briefing sessions and materials to keep our leadership informed.
A key part of your role will be driving the use of data insights within reporting and overseeing data reports for risk management purposes. You'll engage with audits as required and provide continuous disclosure for key risk incidents and regulatory matters. Your support and oversight will be crucial for divisional regulatory responses as required for bodies such as BCCC, ASIC, and APRA. You'll also provide guidance for regulatory changes and oversee large divisional projects to ensure that all changes meet regulatory requirements.
**What’s in it for me?**
You’ll play a significant part of the future of a business that has been around for 200 years. Our purpose is to create better futures together. So, we’ll back you in the development of your career, internal career prospects, and flexible working. You’ll also keep learning to grow your career, backed by a fantastic team of people with a can-do, supportive structure. Whatever shape your family takes, we offer generous paid and unpaid parental leave for your nominated primary and support carers. This includes leave to organise adoptions, surrogacy, and foster care arrangements. And we continue to pay your super contributions while you take all the time you need to get your new family settled
**What do I need?**
To succeed in this role, you'll need outstanding people management and leadership skills, coupled with exceptional stakeholder management abilities. We're looking for someone with over 15 years of extensive risk management framework experience and deep expertise in consumer banking non-financial management or compliance. You'll have demonstrated experience in developing and embedding risk concepts and toolsets and implementing group or divisional regulatory frameworks.
**What is it like to work there?**
We aim to provide one big, supportive team to help us achieve our purpose of creating better futures together. As well as competitive remuneration and a great culture, joining the Westpac family means you will get some of the best banking, wealth and insurance benefits in the market.
We back our employees by helping them work towards industry-recognised qualifications, using online learning, training modules and career planning tools for you to grow with us. We will even pay you to do volunteer or community work.
As an equal opportunity employer, we are proud to have created a culture and work environment that values diversity and flexibility - and champions inclusion.
