APG is currently seeking an experienced Social Data Analyst for a 3 Month contract within a Parramatta Government Sector.

**Primary Purpose of the Role**
The Research Officer (Social Data Analyst) is primarily responsible supporting the DPE Social Research team in research data analysis and building and maintaining presentations, dashboards, databases and registry entries across a range of environmental tracking studies and bespoke research projects. Requires a relevant social science qualification or 2-4 years of experience in market or social research industry. Provides technical and analytical support, timely assistance and advice to team members

**Key accountabilities**
- Support more senior staff in delivering project research and co-design activities, to meet program objectives and appropriate standards of scientific rigour.
- Undertake research and analysis, identifying trends and preparing research reports, to support informed decision-making and planning
- Maintain a range of collaborative networks across EHG and external stakeholders, including consultants, government agencies and other research providers to support the delivery of research and evaluation programs.
- Provide timely advice and communication within the Team and relevant stakeholders across EHG to ensure that technical and scientific considerations are properly considered.
- Actively contribute to team building, seek views and opinions of others, support science knowledge management within EHG and maintain a commitment to open communication to support effective
- knowledge sharing within EHG and with key stakeholders.
- Prepare a range of project related documents as instructed, including research papers and discussion papers.
- Prepare and deliver short presentations on research activities as required, to small groups using clear language, to facilitate effective implementation of co-design principles within the program

**Essential Criteria**:

- Social science degree qualification or relevant experience
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures used in social research
- Well-developed social / market research quantitative data analysis skills and knowledge
- Experience designing and building data presentation dashboards (DisplayR, PowerBI or similar)
- High degree of accuracy
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision

**Preferable**:

- Strong Excel skills and experience using Q Research and/ or SPSS
- Sound working knowledge of online scripting tools (e.g. Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, Confirmit or similar)
- Back-end programming skills (Javascript, R script, HTML)
- Experience in delivering social research or evaluation projects
