**About the role**

The Manager is responsible for overseeing essential policy, project, and general management functions for the directorate. This role encompasses the design and development of intricate policy initiatives and reforms that align with organizational goals and government commitments, as well as the delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of a portfolio of associated strategic projects and initiatives.

**About you**
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing complex policy initiatives and reforms that align with organizational and governmental objectives.
- Proven ability to manage a diverse portfolio of strategic projects, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.
- Strong capability in conducting research and analysis to inform policy development and project planning.
- Experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and achieving key milestones.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
- Proficient in leading consultations and negotiations to develop collaborative solutions and support sound policy decisions.
- Familiarity with strategies for monitoring and evaluating policies and projects to ensure effectiveness and accountability.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for presenting complex information clearly and persuasively.
- A degree in public policy, management, social sciences, or a related field; advanced qualifications are preferred.
- A strong understanding of and commitment to promoting organizational goals and government commitments through effective policy delivery.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
- Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and the ECE First Steps Strategy to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people and support Aboriginal children and families in NSW.
