**The opportunity**

Due to expansion, a new position reporting into the General Manager, Operations & Delivery Solutions (OD&S) has become available on a permanent basis. As a key member of the OD&S group, you will act as an internal Commercial Consultant providing transformational advice and coaching to optimise Greater Western Waters (GWW’s) processes and systems. In doing so, GWW will develop higher levels of operating maturity and performance in commercial, contract governance. Being imbedded in the OD&S team, you will have a deep understanding of commercial contract governance and performance, commercially manage existing contracts, and develop an efficient maintenance delivery model that meets GWW’s needs for today and into the future. Act as a conduit between corporate Procurement and front line leaders managing contracts. This role can be full-time with flexibility options available including WFH, our Footscray or Sunbury office.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead a team who provide commercial and performance expertise to the O&DS team in support of the delivery of efficient and effective operational services.
- You’ll ensure O&DS has an efficient and effective delivery model that enables the efficient and effective delivery of all water and sewer network, treatment plant and Mechanical & Electrical needs to operate and maintain the assets.
- Provide commercial contract expertise to operational leaders, managing supplier contracts used to provide key services.
- Oversee all contract and commercial governance requirements of O&DS including the commercial management of large supplier contracts, outsourced field services agreements, vendor panels and other bespoke commercial agreements
- Work with a centralised strategic Procurement function to align roles and responsibilities within this framework to ensure strong governance and controls around procurement and contract management are embedded within the broader O&DS teams.
- Work with the corporate Risk, Assurance, and Compliance team to identify and assess strategic operational risks within O&DS to ensure that risks are reported.
- Lead performance reporting for O&DS by supporting the senior Leadership Team and their groups to identify and report on key operational drivers.

**Skills & Experience**
- Significant and demonstrated experience in a mid to large Utility or Telco provider where you’ve managed and developed varied commercial models to deliver on organisational wide operational objectives.
- Ideally, you’ll present with a background in Water/Construction/Operations and large-scale project environments.
- Proven expertise in successfully managing various complex projects or service based contract models.
- Advanced negotiation, communication and people skills with experience managing senior relationships and reporting to executives.
- Impeccable commercial acumen. You’ve previously exhibited the ability to create, implement and maintain governance frameworks that effectively manage commercial and contractual relationships with key suppliers.
- A natural flair for creating effective and long-standing stakeholder relationships by playing the role of a trusted partner and expert in commercial and business performance.
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce or Legal.
- You’re a strategic thinker and act with a high degree of autonomy and intuition to engage in complex commercial contracts' structuring, negotiation and administration and governance.
