The role is responsible for developing long-range objectives and strategic plans for the KC-30A Platform and Sustainment Enterprise by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect delivery of capability as well as opportunities to further enhance capability.

The Strategic Development Manager prepares acquisition proposals, recommends courses of action and alternatives, and implements and maintains strategic and operational capability roadmaps. The role also plans and coordinates business reviews, resource allocations, organization structures, and value for money analysis.

This position is ideally based at RAAF Amberley/Springfield.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Development of strategy for the Platform, Enterprise and Program through engagement with key stakeholders
- Scanning the environment for capability opportunities
- Maintaining surveillance over the support system outputs
- Prepares acquisition proposals and recommends courses of action
- Development and maintenance of the capability roadmaps
- Development and implementation of process to capture, analyse and prioritise potential changes
- Identification and engagement with stakeholders internal and external to the KC-30A Enterprise
- KC-30A capability assurance and sustainment Enterprise change activities
- Development and implementation of process to support Air Mobility and Tanker Program Office in developing submissions related to KC-30A capability assurance within the Capability Life Cycle IIP gate process
- Identification of baselines managed within the KC-30 Enterprise and development and implementation of baseline management processes and artefacts to manage change within the Enterprise
- Development and implementation of a project meeting and reporting framework and artefacts to support effective governance and assurance of KC-30A Projects, both internal and external to the KC-30A Enterprise
- Development and implementation of process to assign and manage Enterprise resources in the conduct of KC-30A projects.
- Development and implementation of process for Enterprise endorsement of annual KC-30A Capability and Sustainment Enterprise work plans to support DMFP generation and Enterprise resource planning.
- Development of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of the team and/or program. Ensuring at all times that projects will deliver results that aligned with the Customer expectations and are executable by the NGA business.
- Developing solutions that provide the best possible Value for Money (VFM).
- Project management support and guidance to program functional areas.

**Essential Qualifications & Experience**:

- Recognised qualifications in Project Management
- Proven experience in leadership, the supervision of resources, projects and the setting of priorities as a Project Manager (or similar)
- Proven ability to deliver and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Exceptionally robust oral and written communication skills.
- Strong team player, with ability to work as part of a larger group or independently.

**Desired Qualifications & Experience**:

- Experience in Business Development and/or Business Capture activities
- Experience in delivering new aircraft capabilities within the Defence Capability Development framework
- Demonstrated experience in Defence-related Project Management activities

**Note**:As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian Citizens. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable, as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
