Join a premier commercial law firm located within Melbourne's CBD, as a Fulltime Permanent Accounts Clerk. Reporting to the Client Services Offices, the role provides excellent service to our clients by ensuring that controls around client money held on trust by the firm operate both effectively and efficiently and that the firm meets its regulatory obligations.

**Responsibilities**

The Accounts Clerk (Client Services) is responsible for the day-to-day operation and reconciliation of the Firm’s trust and controlled money accounts (CMA). The incumbent has primary responsibility for processing trust and CMA transactions in the firm’s systems including processing receipts, transfers and payments. In addition, the incumbent will work closely with our banking partners around the opening and closing of CMAs.

**The key components of the role are as follows**:

- Recording daily trust account and Controlled Money Account (CMA) transactions including receipts, payments and transfers;
- Collection and reporting of required documentation to support trust account and CMA payment creation and approval;
- Opening and closing of bank accounts in relation to CMA;
- Ensuring that the trust account and CMAs are operated in accordance with regulation and that any exceptions are escalated immediately;
- Reconciling the trust account and CMAs on a regular basis;

**About you**:

- At least 1-2 years’ experience working in a similar role or a role where daily reconciliation of client money or assets was a key responsibility.
- Experience of dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of General Ledger postings and processing bank payments.
- Experience of operating within a highly regulated process or business is preferential.
