**Your role**
**Peer Facilitators** will intentionally draw on their own **lived experience** to support the learning of others. As a Peer Facilitator you will have the ability to talk about and share your own experiences as a carer, offer ideas and strategies for self-care, safety and wellbeing, including a personal insight into the impact of stigma and the effect this has for individuals, families and the broader community.

You will be leading group sessions and peer programs to create an environment Carers will find welcoming, real and empowering. Using your own lived experiences to ensuring relationships with Carers are positive and are built on Wellways values. Communication will be key to community engagement/ networking and establishing referral pathways.

Part of this exciting role is also to build strong connections and partnerships with other services that support Carers and promote the Carer Gateway Program throughout the region.

The successful applicate will require the following attributes:

- Group Facilitation experience
- Partnership and relationship building skills
- Experience in working with people who have complex needs is highly desirable

**Pre-employment compliance requirements**
- Lived experience as a young Carer or adult Carer
- Certificate IV or above in a support discipline and/or Equivalent Community sector experience
- Current valid Driver's License
- Satisfactory National Police Records Check
- QLD Blue Card
- QLD Yellow Card
- Right to Work within Australia
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- COVID 19 Vaccination Certificate with Booster or valid medical exemption
