**About the role
This role will work within West Moreton Mental Health Community and Acute Services and has flexible work arrangements.
The Advanced Peer Worker works under general direction to facilitate the development, planning and delivery of support services to consumers across West Moreton Mental Health Community and Acute Services, which includes The Park Centre for Mental Health.
About you
Within the context of the responsibilities described above under 'About this role', the ideal person for this role will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated knowledge of recovery principles and strength-based approach in working with consumers who have mental health issues.
Demonstrated well developed communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries.
Demonstrated skills in computer literacy.
Demonstrated ability to work within timeframes and deliver on work commitments.
Demonstrate an ability to advocate for the consumer perspective to identify service improvement.
Demonstrated ability to share lived experience of recovery to assist consumers and staff within the role.
Mandatory Requirements:
Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to have a personal lived/living experience of mental health and/or substance use issues, or a personal lived/living experience of caring for a person with mental health and/or substance use issues.
Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
