The South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) is South Australia’s flagship independent translational health and medical research institute. Situated within the Adelaide Biomedical Precinct, the SAHMRI Clinical Trials Platform (CTP) was established to effectively support the conduct of internationally recognised, impactful clinical research across diverse disciplines. The CTP provides support and Academic Research Organisation services for industry funded and investigator led clinical research. Our vision is to be a world-leading Clinical Trials Platform that accelerates the development of safe and effective interventions resulting in real-world impact to the community.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We’re looking for a dynamic Operations and Business Manager who will be a leader, driving innovation and continuous improvement in our growing Clinical Trials Platform. You will have a pivotal role in the growth of the SAHMRI Clinical Trials Platform as we pursue our vision as a world-leading Clinical Trials Platform based in the heart of the Adelaide Biomedical Precinct. Although the position is advertised at full-time, we are happy to consider part-time arrangements as part of our flexible working arrangements policy.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to support the achievement of the CTP's strategic goals and objectives.
- Lead and coordinate the continuous improvement of operational systems and processes to optimise the delivery of clinical trial services.
- Work closely with the Clinical Operations Manager and the SAHMRI Biostatistics Unit Lead to streamline business and finance operational workflows and enhance resource utilization.
- Oversee research business operations, including human resources, budget development, and financial management, to maximize resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders such as SAHMRI researchers, clinicians, corporate entities, and research support staff.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Tertiary qualifications in in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in research business operations, including human resource management, budget development, and financial management (minimum of 5 years preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, innovative thinking, and a strong work ethic.
- Track record of driving continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Business-minded with a keen focus on achieving exceptional clinical trial service delivery.
- Ability to analyse and solve problems and to deal with complex issues with a high level of critical thinking, sound decision making and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
