We are seeking a driven Risk Analyst to support the risk management framework within our RAC Insurance business. Reporting to the Incident Lead Specialist you will be responsible for processing and assessing reported risk incidents, including their impact on our regulatory obligations, and identifying potentially reportable breaches.

The Risk Analyst supports the Incident Owner in identifying root cause and recommending actions for remediation and rectification in line with regulator guidelines.

This role is a fixed term contract for 9 months.

What’s the role?
- Assist leaders to assess incidents, understand causal factors, materiality of impacts, control gaps, reporting requirements and actions required to prevent reoccurrence
- Identify improvement opportunities for review and action
- Promote risk awareness and the ongoing development of a risk and compliance culture
- Adhere to the incident and regulatory breach reporting policy and procedures
- Conduct routine visits to call centers and other RAC Insurance business units to improve awareness of the Incident and Breach process with various stakeholders
- Develop knowledge of Risk and Compliance Management Frameworks and key regulatory requirements
- Conduct compliance assurance over member conversations (may include call listening)
- Assist the Compliance team with other ad hoc requests

About you
- Commitment to putting members at the centre of everything you do
- Demonstrated experience in financial services and/or big four consulting firm, ideally with exposure to insurance and/or compliance
- Sound knowledge of regulatory issues affecting the insurance and financial services industry
- Knowledge of APRA standards, ASIC regulatory guides and RG78 Breach Reporting requirements
- Ability to review regulatory guidance and convert into practical requirements
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to take initiative and generate ideas
- Ability to build relationships and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders while understanding their needs
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team
- Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse workload and meet competing deadlines
- Organised, methodical and good attention to detail
- Insurance, risk management or tertiary qualifications in a related field is desirable
