**Job Description**:
The Remediation Specialist role is a delivery role which will support the analysis and remediation delivery of internal and external Customer impacting items, requiring remediation across the Individual Life business. The role is responsible for analysing customer impact and supporting the broader team in the development and delivery of customer remediation activities. The role is responsible for working closely with the reconciliation, finance, operations and risk teams to support the implementation of remediation initiatives within the Individual Life Remediation function, with a particular focus on ensuring effective customer outcomes in line with TALs Customer philosophies within the risk management framework.

In this role you will:

- Conduct root cause analysis of identified risks in consultation with the business.
- Liaise directly with customers via telephone contact or written communication, keeping customers up to date with the progress of any remediation activities.
- Work with the Individual Life Line 1 Risk team to ensure incident management and adequate visibility of all items identified requiring remediation.
- Support the formulation of corrective strategies and implementation plans for key corrective actions and preventative controls, including obtaining relevant approvals.
- Deliver weekly remediation reporting data and stakeholder reporting.

**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role you will have,
- Financial Remediation / Operational Risk & Compliance Background.
- Familiarity with the relevant regulatory and legal compliance requirements (e.g. APRA/Life Act) of a Life Insurance Company.
- Computer literacy and a good knowledge of relevant software including MS Excel.
- Knowledge of relevant TAL Business Unit administrative systems will be highly regarded.
- A strong understanding of the insurance industry including detailed operational knowledge.
