As **EHSQ Lead**, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a small but dynamic team in the Global Operations Quality team who are responsible to ensure the plant produces quality products in a safe environment, and work with various internal stakeholders to protect Tate & Lyle and our customer's brands and reputation.

**About You**

We’re looking to recruit an Environment Health Safety Quality (EHSQ) Lead reporting to the Site Manager, with dotted reporting to the Regional Quality Director who is based in APAC. This is a people manager role where you have a team of 2 reporting to you.

As a company, we are on a Journey to EHSQS Excellence, and you are expected to participate in this initiative and assume the role of Element Owner/Co-Element Owner.

This role is primarily responsible for ensuring all products produced conform to food safety and quality standards and regulations by coordinating laboratory activities. You are expected to coordinate activities of the operational quality team along with EHS Element Owners and produce quality products in a safe environment at the Brisbane Plant.***

This BU supplies proprietary food stabiliser systems for the food industry in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, South East Asia, and the Middle East. Our products are found in many leading brands in Australia including yogurts, desserts, prepared salads, and readymade meals. Our ingredients enable foods to maintain integrity throughout their shelf life, providing healthier products by reducing the fat content, reducing or replacing sugar, or enhancing the fibre content.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Co-ordinate QA team including direct supervisory responsibility for two Quality Technicians.
- Help co-ordinate and maintain momentum on Journey to EHSQS Excellence activities with relevant element owners
- Review and maintenance of Quality and Food Safety programs
- Energise and drive the safety and quality culture within the operational team and support the Brisbane site.
- Assist Area Managers and Supervisors with process troubleshooting for related issues.
- Leading, conducting, and implementing resolutions for audits
- Work with the Business Unit on Customer related Quality and Food Safety issues.
- Investigate and resolve Quality and EHSQS-related issues
- Management and execution of hold and release of the product in SAP or related programs.
- Management off-spec product and returned product.
- Coordinate and participate in the Food Safety Audit and GMP audit of the plant
- Effectively interact with Production and Development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products
- Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
- Ensuring compliance with internal, customer, local national, and international standards and legislation.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental and health and safety standards.
- Support overall business objectives and participate in company initiatives, as assigned
- Manage the raw material exchange program.
- Reviewing the EHSQS system to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy, effectiveness
- Plan, Monitor, and Review the EHSQS Management System and Inform Management and stakeholders of any gaps or deficiencies.
- Establish/document a system to ensure ongoing awareness of EHS legal requirements.

**Location**

This role is assigned to our manufacturing site located at Wacol, Queensland.

**What You’ll have**
- Degree in a related Science discipline
- Minimum 8 years experience in a quality/safety focus role especially in a food-related industry
- Strong knowledge of food legislation, BRC, and ISO
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent IT skills especially in SAP
