**What you will do**
- Develop, implement, and manage environmental health programs to meet regulatory and legislative requirements, ensuring alignment to Council’s vision and goals
- Provide leadership and direction to the Environmental Health team, ensuring the effective coordination of work activities, prioritisation of tasks, and the achievement of service delivery goals
- Lead initiatives to promote environmental sustainability and enhance public health outcomes
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including community groups, local businesses, industry bodies, and other governmental agencies.
**What you'll bring/what we are looking for**
- Degree or Diploma of Health Science (Public & Environmental Health) or equivalent plus post graduate qualifications with relevant work experience (eligible to be a member of the Environmental Health Professionals Australia).
- Significant experience in leading, managing and supporting staff to achieve the best possible outcomes in their practice.
- Demonstrated experience building relationships to influence and negotiate desired outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven skills in investigating complaints and identifying potential health risks, including nuisance complaints (e.g. noise, pollution, food safety).
- High level of accuracy in investigating and documenting inspections, investigations, and project outcomes, ensuring compliance with local government reporting standards and legislative requirements

- Current Victorian Drivers Licence
- Current Working with Children’s Check
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) (Previously known as a police check
