6-12 month contract for an experienced APS5 Finance Officer

**Your new company**

This department delivers social and health related services through its programmes. Through close collaboration with the community and partner agencies, this department plays an active role in developing new approaches to social and health related policy and service delivery.

**Your new role**

Finance Officers undertake high level financial administration of core financial functions including accounting, budget management, governance and policy, taxation, asset management, finance strategy, reporting, project management and financial systems.

They are required to demonstrate a high level of productivity, which will be assessed in the context of their role within the agency.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Knowledge and understanding of:

- Legislation, policies, procedures and information management requirements relevant to the work area
- Relevant systems and tools
- Roles and responsibilities of the agency, including the legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- The _Australian Accounting Standards_
- The Enterprise Agreement and conditions of employment
- The function of the work area and its role in the wider agency
- The _Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act (PGPA)._

Ability to:

- Adapt to a changing environment and assist others to adjust
- Build rapport and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Collaborate with other staff in the immediate area and in other areas of the agency
- Communicate confidently and present messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner
- Prioritise competing tasks and work collaboratively to see projects through to completion
- Support and provide assistance to others
- Work independently and as part of a team under general direction.
