About the role
The position is a key whole-of-organisation function within the Strategic Communications and Education work unit. Reporting to the Strategic Communications and Education Manager, the position of Principal Communications and Community Education Officer will bring drive, creativity, a collaborative mindset, a passion for emerging communication trends, and a desire to be part of a supportive, high-performing team. This position will suit someone who can think outside the box and has strong stakeholder and project management skills. Previous experience in marketing, communications or public relations will provide a sound platform for success in this role.
The core functions of the unit include strategic and corporate communications, media management, stakeholder relations and engagement, targeted marketing, digital media, and community engagement.

**To be successful in this role you will have the following**:

- Professional interpersonal and communication skills;
- Experience managing media enquiries and responses
- Demonstrated flexibility, agility and resilience;
- The ability to remain composed during high-stakes situations, with the capability to negotiate on behalf of the agency to finality.
- A commitment to serving the community.
- Tertiary qualifications in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field will be highly regarded
