About the role
As the Principal Education Officer you will have responsibility for the following:

- Lead IT strategies that foster customer engagement, instructional leadership and school and community partnerships.
- Develop state-wide strategies to deliver services focused on customer engagement with digital technologies, using recent school based experience and high level knowledge of IT for teaching, learning and school improvement strategies.
- Draft, write and edit plans, briefing materials, communication materials, case studies, correspondence, papers and reports on implementation strategies, projects and services.
- Liaise, consult and collaborate with Central Office units, Regional Directors, principals, teachers and other stakeholders, to provide high quality advice within agreed state-wide frameworks and processes.
- Contribute to the identification and solutions to technology issues that impact on implementation services.
- Provide educational and professional leadership for project teams involved in the design, planning, writing and delivery of education IT systems support resources.
- Use and model effective and productive work practices enabled by digital technologies.
- Exhibit and foster high level commitment to developing performance and knowledge of best practice approaches in teaching, learning and school improvement.

The successful applicant will still be entitled to current school holiday leave periods however they will have the ability to negotiate the dates of those holidays (i.e project work can occur over school holidays and the applicant can negotiate to take this holiday leave at another time)

**A mandatory requirement of this role is**:

- Possession of a relevant degree in education or teaching from a recognised tertiary institution or agreed equivalent which, in the opinion of the Director-General, Department of Education, or delegate, is acceptable.
