**About the Team**:
The Misconduct Disciplinary Advice Unit (MDAU) is a business unit of the Incident Management Directorate (IMD) and provides expert advice while managing disciplinary processes arising from investigations into allegations of employee misconduct. The disciplinary and legislative framework of the MDAU functions is guided by common law principles, South Australian legislation including but not limited to the Public Sector Act 2009; the Education and Children's Services Act 2019, and related review and appeal processes. MDAU staff work collaboratively with other departmental units and external agencies while acting in an unbiased, impartial manner which considers the rights of individual employees. High level communications in the form of briefings to the Chief Executive or relevant delegate are required to set out the courses of action recommended and reasonably open in the various phases of disciplinary processes.

**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Manager, Misconduct and Disciplinary Advice Unit, IMD, Disciplinary Review and Adjudication Officers are responsible for conducting disciplinary processes in line with standards and principles of natural justice and procedural fairness and preparing briefings and documents that are capable of withstanding internal and external scrutiny in line with organisational and government policy, common law and legislative standards.

**Desirable** **Qualifications & Knowledge**:

- Legal or Para Legal experience
- Adjudication, Complaints Resolution
- Legal Services or Law Degree/Qualification
- Knowledge of the lntersectoral Protective Practices for staff in their interactions with children and young people guidelines, the Code of Ethics for the South Australian Public Sector, and legislative frameworks, particularly in relation to employee conduct and child protection and student behaviour management.**
**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
ASO7 $108,109 - $116,864 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation.
