**Position Information**:
Cronulla High School is a comprehensive, coeducational high school located in south-eastern Sydney, adjacent to Cronulla Beaches and part of the Sutherland Shire. Cronulla High School’s current enrolment of 1,250 students, has a dedicated and supporting school community committed to improving student learning outcomes. The energy and work of staff in building a positive whole school culture and learning environment, has ensured that the school is highly valued in the community. Our school has a well-established reputation for outstanding academic, performing & creative arts and sporting achievements.
There is a combination of experienced and young teachers all evidencing leadership and working collegially to ensure student wellbeing, student achievement and the continuation of a positive school culture. Our staff are expected to be sophisticated users of ICT in the promotion of effective teaching and learning and in school administration. The work of the school is driven by the following three core goals, continually raising expectations, communicating with parents and recognising and rewarding student achievement.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Demonstrated capacity to lead both the welfare and learning support teams to provide evidence-based interventions that foster engagement and improve student outcomes.
- Proven capacity to develop, implement and lead innovative wellbeing programs that contribute to whole school improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to develop productive partnerships with a range of stakeholders that promote student wellbeing.
- Demonstrated capacity to work as a dynamic member of the school executive team in leading initiatives that address the school’s strategic directions.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
