**Who we are**:
Public Sector Network (PSN) brings together public and industry partners, in an open forum, to help deliver fair and collaborative alliances.
Starting in Australia back in 2014 Public Sector Network has grown from two people and a dining table to a global team of over 100 located in Sydney, New York, Oslo and everywhere in between. Our team is diverse, each bringing unique perspectives and experiences to PSN.
We believe business can be a force for good. As an accredited B Corp, and through partnership with Pledge 1% and One Tree Planted, we’ll harness the power of business to shift the global economy and build momentum on corporate philanthropy.
You will be an integral part of Public Sector Network’s production team, supporting several communities through professional development events and providing valuable insights and support to the sector through online content.
Day-to-day you will be collaborating with government stakeholders to create event programs, develop content pieces and build online communities to support the professional development needs of the public sector.
**Role Description**: The Community Director will work within the Production Team and be responsible for building Public Sector Network events, creating valuable content and building online communities for the public sector. The role is currently hybrid - working from home and the Sydney CBD office, and will involve some travel throughout A/NZ.
**Roles and Responsibilities include**:
- Actively engage in your assigned communities through networking events, webinars, groups, social media etc, and connect with speakers and thought leaders
- Research and develop an assigned allocation of events per year - to be made up of virtual events, roadshows, summits and one day events
- Acquire the minimum number of speakers required per format of each event, including meeting minimum requirements for female speakers on the speaker faculty. Our aim is for a high quality, cutting edge speaker faculty that includes gender parity and inclusivity.
- Manage assigned online communities by posting on discussion boards, sharing articles and news to drive membership, content sharing and discussions between members to grow the online communities
- Undertake detailed telephone and desk research on specific community event topics and program themes with senior level government executives
- Collate information and conduct research analysis
- Ensure a thorough competitive analysis of the market to avoid other events, and to ensure our events are relevant for the current time of year - e.g. don’t put a fire and emergency management event in wildfire season
- Write at least one piece of content per community per month - news story, article, speaker interview etc.
- Bring new ideas to the table for future Public Sector Network events
- Work strategically with sponsorship sales and marketing to ensure event sponsorship revenue and audience delivery
- Manage events onsite and run virtual community events
- Write post-event reports bringing together polling data and key takeaways
**General Duties Include**:
- Actively support the Company’s social purposes at work
- Be a positive part of the Company’s culture and help it grow
- Act ethically, kindly and respectfully to every fellow employee, the Company’s customers and suppliers, and any other person encountered in the course of employment
- Bring new ideas to the table, raise any problems promptly and openly, and listen to (and support) the ideas of others
