This is a great opportunity to further develop your skills in local government working in a diverse role with a supportive team.

**Employed as an GIS Officer, you will be responsible for**:
Provide support to the Asset Management and GIS Team, through the capturing of subdivisional, capital and found assets to update and improve Council’s physical asset base.
- Collate, capture, and digitise Council’s asset data (location and associated attributes) into Council’s Asset Management Systems and Geographic Information Systems for the benefit of the organisation and external clients.
- Support data capture documentation, design and mapping programs to ensure data collected is of a high standard.
- Provide specialist advice and knowledge to staff in relation to Asset Management Systems and Geographic Information Systems, and their capabilities.
- Improve the integrity of information held within Council’s Asset Management Systems and Geographic Information Systems, by participating in quality assurance programs, and documenting metadata.
- Undertaken field data collection and auditing to ensure the accuracy of Council asset data.
- A degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant experience/qualifications
- Experience in asset inspections and construction supervision
- A solid understanding of Local Government procedures and the Road Management Act
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A strong commitment to customer service
- A current driver's license
