**The Role**
Are you looking to enhance your understanding of the Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) templates and gain commercial and technical specialist skills? Do you want to: - support the drafting and maintenance of the ASDEFCON contracting templates to ensure that they and the guidance materials are legally and technically compliant, reflect best practice and are kept up to date with policies and legislation;
- provide ASDEFCON template advice and support via the ASDEFCON helpdesks, by providing a friendly helpdesk service; and
- support the administration of the ASDEFCON training program, and update of related training course materials?
If so, a role in the ASDEFCON Statement of Work (SOW) Policy team is the place for you. You will be mentored and receive exposure to activities which will broaden your commercial and technical knowledge of the ASDEFCON suite.
This role will give you skills for future procurement and contracting roles.
The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace. Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following. BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA).
**About our Team**
The ASDEFCON teams are small close-knit teams of experienced commercial and technical professionals (APS and contractors). The teams develop and maintain the commercial and technical elements of the ASDEFCON suite of contracting templates and manage commercial and technical initiatives to reduce the cost of tendering and improve procurement outcomes. The team’s core role is to draft the templates used for solicitation documents and contracts used in Australia’s largest and most complex capability projects.
The teams support Defence's commercial function to provide procurement, contracting, commercial and technical expertise and support across the procurement lifecycle to enable Defence to meet its objectives, maximise value for money and meet legislative and mandatory policy requirements.

- strong co-ordination and document management skills.
