Ventia is seeking a Full-Time **Technical Officer (Electrical) **to work in our longstanding contract with Defence the Victoria region, based in **Simpson Barracks**, Yallambie.

You will specifically be responsible for all electrical assets and systems, ensuring that our sites meet technical and safety standards. This will be a role handling various sites across Victoria & Tasmania. We strongly encourage applicants with the flexibility to travel to different sites.

**Duties**:

- Provide Technical oversight and support to operations primarily for Electrical assets and systems.
- Monitor all activities to identify if they meet or exceed legislative and Contract Service Definition Table (SDT) requirements.
- Deliver the Contractual Electrical Asset Appraisal program, including input of end of life estimates, compliance statements, assessed condition and functionality and recommendations to address shortfall annually.
- Capture and management of risk applicable to the Electrical assets and plant within Region
- Audit contract or technical document quality as required from Project Support Services.
- Review and support site HV shutdown activities

**About you**:

- Relevant formal qualification (Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Trade Certificate) in Electrical Engineering or equivalency in field and industry related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant demonstrated experience in Electrical (HV/LV) industry
- Demonstrated skills on HV permit management
- Understanding of HV/LV design principles
- Good understanding in legislative requirements
- Demonstrated management and organisational skills.

You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to maintain a Defence clearance in order to be eligible for these positions, as well as be able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and Medical Pre-Employment Checks as required by the contract.
