Our client is an online broker providing platforms to trade forex, indices, commodities, crypto and stocks. We are headquartered in New South Wales, Australia but operate globally. The company was established in 2016 and pride themselves on being Australia’s highest rated forex broker with a client base in Australia, UK, Malaysia and the Philippines.

**About the role**
The Tech Lead position is a hands-on, full-stack engineer role where you'll have the chance to build the right team around you with full support and collaboration from the executive leadership team. Currently, there is a team of 5 direct reports working from North Sydney.

Your role can be summarised by ‘you do what is needed for the team to succeed’. You have a lot of autonomy and responsibility for setting up and implementing software development practices and processes, defining culture, finding and retaining key talent to build your dream product team.

The role touches on all aspects of the product development lifecycle. You'll be able to leverage your diverse experience and breadth of technical skills to lead developers onshore and offshore and make pragmatic technical decisions.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Develop and implement systems, procedures, and projects to achieve business outcomes and improve performance standards.
- Manage and lead a team to technically deliver on business requirements in a scalable, performant, and secure manner.
- Analyse, lead and optimise the current development of our core platform, to enhance our market offerings.
- Be a key decision maker in the delivery of software design, architecture, requirements analysis, investigation of new technologies, and software development.
- Provide constructive feedback and coach staff to build capability and improve performance to ensure service standards are met.
- Sound market knowledge through continual research to ensure platform development is aligned with customer expectations.
- Collaborate as a member of an agile team to get products developed and completed with best in the market software development.
- Use tools and methodologies to create representations of the functions and user interface of the desired product/portal.
- Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility.
- Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards.
- Ensure software meets all requirements for quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.

**Technical skills**
Extensive and demonstrable skills and experience in:

- Full stack software engineering
- Node.js or C#.NET
- React.js, Next.js, Nest.js
- TypeScript
- EntityFramework
- RDMBs (MySql, Postres, MSSQL)

AWS - Cloud Architecture & 5 Pillars design considerations CI/CD - Setting up and managing deployments to the cloud Git

**Ideal - ‘Nice to have’ technical experience**:

- PHP
- KYC/AML integrations
- Payment Gateway integrations
- Salesforce / Marketing Cloud integrations
- MT4 / MT5
- Docker
- Redis

**Skills &**
**Experience**:

- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a developer.
- Experience (or passion) in developing and leading a high performing team with a culture of accountability and achievement. It is your passion to lead, motivate, and develop others to help build the overall team culture.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills (in English).
- Experience with AWS web services
- Strong understanding of design and development principles, and best practices in fundamental programming techniques and concepts
- Strong people focused leadership skills
- Strong understanding of DORA
- A technical mindset with strong attention to detail.

**Desirable**
- Experience within the Financial Services, Banking, or Trading industry
