AGL’s Health, Safety and Environment team have an opportunity for a Land & Approvals Specialist where you will take responsibility for regulatory approval processes across our operational sites.

Working across multiple sites and assets (thermal generation, wind and hydro), we have the flexibility for this role to be based in NSW, SA, Queensland or Victoria.

What you’ll bring:

- Extensive experience in land and approvals for brownfield sites.
- Strong understanding of the EPBC Act and other relevant planning & environmental legislation.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills including with internal leadership, project teams and Government agencies (local, state and federal).
- Ability to provide advice and support for project approvals and property matters across Integrated Energy operational assets throughout Queensland, NSW, Victoria, SA & WA.
- Strategic planning capability, and strong project management experience with advanced communication and influencing skills.

What you’ll be doing:

- Advise the Integrated Energy Senior Leadership team on a diverse range of issues relating to our land and approvals strategy for operations
- Lead and support project teams to manage the evaluation and execution of land, infrastructure and regulatory approvals for our operational sites
- Build and maintain effective strategic and operational relationships with local, state and the federal Government to effectively negotiate regulatory and other approvals
- Coordinate, develop and implement a strategy and project timelines for obtaining approvals for energy projects and operational assets
- Lead the environmental assessment process for operational assets by coordinating external consultants and gaining input from key internal personnel
- Identify opportunities for improvements, innovation and efficiencies across Land and Approvals

Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or equivalent
- 8+ years’ experience in Land & Approvals role
