We are currently on the lookout for a Splunk consultant to facilitate the design, build and implementation of complex/scalable Splunk infrastructure and monitoring solutions via dashboards.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work directly with a variety of clients to gather requirements and understand monitoring systems and business requirements.
- Design and document solutions to report and integrate with enterprise systems.
- Scope and estimate effort involved in the delivery of Splunk solutions.
- Deliver Splunk solutions including install, configuration, data on boarding and creation of knowledge objects and deliver them to the client and / or operations team.
- Build integrations and custom solutions using a variety of technologies such as Python scripts and Rest API.
- Collaborate with Splunk Peers and Delivery Manager to deliver cross-departmental and small client projects from conception to completion.
- Communicate with key stakeholders on infrastructure, deployments details, etc. associated to project delivery and Business operation teams as required.
- Provide skilled guidance and mentoring for Splunk architecture designs, solution reviews and code review processes as well as contributing to developing continuous improvement and continuous delivery strategies.
- Development and maintenance for new and existing system programs.
- Writing, updating and maintaining technical program, for end-user requirements documentation and operational procedures are kept up to date and well maintained.
- Researching, analysing and evaluating system program needs and requirements.
- Assist in the identification and mitigation of risks that may affect the performance and security throughout the project lifecycle.
- Interact with clients across all seniority levels in managing relationships, understanding their needs and developing/designing solutions proactively.
- Work as an SME for large complex projects in a pre-sales capacity to architect complex software solutions to meet clients’ business challenges.
- Actively support internal Avocado stakeholders with solution advice, proposals, presentations, and other client communications; providing support to account managers in form of pre-sales discussions and relevant IP material.
- Testing and debugging software to identify faults in code and making sure to work in accordance with established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards.
**Qualification and Skills**:
- Relevant degree and/or 3+ years of experience
- Substantial experience within an Enterprise-level Splunk environment
- Demonstrated experience and ability to building Splunk Solutions
- Expert in working with large data sets
- Team Orientated, Stakeholder Management, Project Delivery
- Advanced knowledge of integration with Enterprise level systems
- Experience with web servers and database platforms
- Experience with building dashboards or other User interfaces
- Experience in creating technical documentation
- Familiarity with use of code repositories such as GIT or Bitbucket
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements
- Splunk Administration certification
**Nice to have**:
- Splunk Architect certification
- Security specific certification and qualifications
- Cloud technology certifications
- Enthusiastic about collaborating with software developers to architect solutions and improve existing processes and systems
- Experience with APM monitoring tools and with Enterprise Security systems or a SIEM tool
