**About the role**

The Ballarat Health Services Emergency Department services the Grampians region for all urgent medical needs. Consisting of 25 beds, with 12 short stay units and 3 resuscitation bays.

The ward clerk and communication clerk work across Emergency and Short Stay. There are three different roles to be trained in. The ward clerk role focus on ordering and restocking whereas the communications clerk role predominantly is relied upon for answering of the phones and clerical work in the main staff base of the Emergency Department.

- Admissions and discharges for Short Stay

**Skills and experience**

Previous experience in ward clerk roles is desirable but not essential. Previous experience in telephone communication also desired.
