As an **Informix Database Administrator** at **Select Software Solutions**, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising the company's mission-critical database infrastructure. Based in our Sydney office, this is a full-time position where you will be responsible for the seamless administration and performance tuning of our Informix database environment.

**What you'll be doing**
- Develop and automate Informix database administration tasks and shell scripts to improve efficiency
- Collaborate with our core development team to understand and address database-related requirements
- Optimise database queries, indexes, and overall Informix Database performance
- Capacty Management and Ongoing Database Management Planning
- Database Design and Modelling and regular Release Management
- Perform regular database backups, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and data integrity
- Manage Informix installation, configuration, upgrades and patches
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Informix technologies, best practices, and industry trends

**What we're looking for**
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as an Informix database administrator
- Strong expertise in Informix database administration, including backup, recovery, security, and performance tuning
- Proficiency in SQL programming, stored procedures, and database optimisation techniques
- Familiarity with database administration tools and scripting languages (e.g., shell)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices
