We are partnered with a well-known mining company for the recruitment of a new Light Vehicle Supervisor.

This is an initial 3-month contract position, but within a vacant role. This is an opportunity to continue your career with a respected player in the mining industry.

This role would operate on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, working days only (no nights), paid 12 hours per day and at a competitive hourly rate.

This is a supervisory role - you'll be overseeing Leading Hands, tradespersons, contractors, apprentices, trainees and other department personnel.

You will:

- Promote a safe working environment through leading by example and conducting inspections, SWO's and Good to Go's, etc.
- Demonstrate personal compliance with Safety, Quality and Environmental
- Be familiar with your subordinates compliance with Safety, Quality and Enviromental policies and procedures.
- Oversee and assist in the formulation and review of JHEA's as per site procedures and statutory requirements.
- Supervise execution of the weekly maintenance plan, and breakdown repairs as required.
- Provide instruction, assistance, direction and on the job training to Leading Hands, tradespersons, apprentices, trainees and maintenance personnel in the performance of their duties.
- Maintain legible, coherent and accurate documentation relating to goods requisitions, work order management, and backlog maintenance records.
- Responsible for audit and maintenance of workshop tooling and equipment to standard.

In terms of your background, you will have:

- Minimum 5 years experience in maintaining light vehicles and stationary light equipment
- Previous supervisory experience in a similar role
- Previous leadership experience with proven effective people management skills
- Western Australian HR class motor vehicle licence or equivalent
- Relevant Australian trade qualification
