Purchasing Administrator needed in Port Melbourne

**Your new company**

Our client is a well-known company that is specialised in the delivery of diversified contracting services for commercial and industrial construction projects across Australia. They are currently looking for a Purchasing Administrator to join their team in Port Melbourne. This is a full-time permanent role.

**Your new role**

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual. In this role, you will take full ownership of the onboarding process for new suppliers, as well as the maintenance of existing supplier information across a diverse group of suppliers and systems.

Working collaboratively with the Procurement and Finance Teams, you will play a crucial role in managing the Supplier On-Boarding Process, ensuring adherence to company guidelines and processes. Your expertise in understanding and interpreting supply terms and conditions, coupled with your strong negotiation and administrative skills, will be instrumental in maintaining positive internal and external relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

- Evaluate and negotiate supplier credit terms and conditions.
- Thoroughly assess and validate requests to add new suppliers.
- Act as a central point of contact and effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Suppliers.
- Establish, update, and oversee supplier information in the ERP, intranet, and other relevant systems.
- Provide valuable administrative support to the Procurement team.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Essential:

- Demonstrated proficiency in comprehending and analysing supplier terms and conditions.
- Knowledge and understanding of financial and operational risk management.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid permanent residency status.

Desirable:

- Qualifications in Business, Law, or a related field.
- Previous experience in supplier or purchasing administration within a relevant industry.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Exposure to the building, construction, or other heavy industries would be advantageous
