**Full Job Description**
Accounts Officer is required to support the finance team in a broad range of accounting functions.
Independent Disability Services (IDS) is an established disability support provider delivering services across Greater Melbourne. We are a not-for-profit where all interactions are made with a client-centred approach. Our head office is based in Carlton.

Responsibilities include:
- Process fortnightly payroll accurately and timely, and liaise with employees on payroll matters
- Process accounts receivable accurately and timely, and liaise with debtors when required
- Process accounts payable accurately and timely, and generate payment files for management approval
- Assist the Finance Manager to maintain financial records by analysing balance sheets and general ledger accounts
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements by comparing transactions to the general ledger
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the finance department, including filing, report generation, budget reviews, etc
- Maintain accounting documents and records, ensuring all files are up to date
- Answering phone calls when required
- Other duties as directed by management that are within your competency or training

**Essential Skills & Experience**
- Advanced Diploma in Accounting or higher
- 2 years experience in a similar accounts role
- Experience processing payroll
- Attention to detail and good record-keeping skills
- Experience using Excel and Xero or other accounting software
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise projects to meet tight deadlines
