**About Us**

The Planning and Development Directorate is responsible for the sustainable and responsible development of the City’s neighbourhoods - both residential and commercial. This high performing team deals with a wide range of interesting planning matters to help shape the future of the City for over 243,000 residents and visitors.

**About the Position**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist with strategic planning proposals, including scheme amendments, local planning policies and projects.
- Conduct inspections, assessments, research, and investigations.
- Provide planning advice to management, the public, and Council.
- Respond to customer enquiries and provide pre-lodgement advice.
- Maintain accurate records in the City’s records management system.

**About You**
- Currently working towards a tertiary qualification in Urban Planning.
- Basic knowledge of town planning principles and practices in a local government context.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A high level of customer service skills.

This is a maximum term part-time position is a Level 5 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from **$77,514.91 to $81,597.55** gross per annum plus superannuation (pro-rata). However, the role has the ability though the four-year term to progress up to a Level 7 Inside Workforce Agreement position (after successful completion of your degree) which attracts a salary from **$98,690.84 to $101,823.62** gross per annum plus superannuation.

**To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a**:

- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia
- A copy of Australian driving licence or passport
