**About the role**:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Clinical Support Officer with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality clinical trial services. The Clinical Support Officer will be expected to be able to:

- Provide a clinical trials trouble-shooting role to CPU as well as to SydPath’s Central Specimen Reception (CSR) and Laboratory areas
- Assist with the triaging, data entry and processing of trial specimens
- Carry out daily data quality checks of request entry and sample storage
- Liaise with sites as required - confirmation of demographic data, requests for results, add-ons, reports
- Assist with cleaning of electronic data
- Management of PK/PD frozen sample storage and shipments
- Management of weekly, monthly and processing shipments
- To maintain familiarity with requirements of ISO 15189
- To maintain familiarity with the requirements of GCP and the clinical research process
- Work a full rotating roster, including afternoon shifts and weekends

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Technical Qualifications (eg Pathology Technician’s Certificate, Associate Diploma of Medical Technology or other science/technical qualifications deemed appropriate, as well as relevant job experience)
3. Previous Clinical Trials Experience
4. Knowledge in Shipment of Diagnostic and Infectious Samples (the latter requiring Dangerous Goods certification) desirable
5. Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
6. Strong Problem solving/trouble-shooting skills
7. Strong P.C. skills
8. Ability to work independently but within a team environment
