Fund Administration Specialist

Ensure timely and accurate management, financial and statutory reporting are provided to management and regulators within agreed time frames and confirm to best practice for the Vanguard Superannuation fund.

**Our Team & Opportunity**

The Fund Administration Team is responsible for the regulatory reporting of the Vanguard funds and Vanguard Superannuation fund, such as financial statements, APRA reporting forms and ABS reports. This includes the development and implementation of a robust accounting policy that ensures adherence to regulatory and accounting standard requirements. The team is also responsible for the oversight of periodic income distributions to investors for the Vanguard Funds.

The focus of this role will be to ensure timely and accurate management, financial and statutory reporting are provided to management and regulators within agreed time frames and confirm to best practice for the Vanguard Superannuation fund.

**What you will do**
- Review and oversight of reconciliation and general ledger balances
- Review monthly management reporting prepared by Administrator
- Review and analyse of APRA reporting to ensure accurate reporting to regulator
- Contribute to yearend financial reporting process including review of financial statement and liaison with audit personnel as required
- Prepare monthly Board reporting
- Ensuring processes and controls are documented and maintained at best practice
- Liaise with Administrator on accounting and reporting issues as they arise
- Builds expertise and identifies best practices that promote operational excellence and advocates positive change.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal/external clients and business partners.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

**What we are looking for**
- Demonstrated experience in the Superannuation Administration and Accounting function specifically on the following:

- MySuper Products
- APRA reporting, APRA returns preparation, lodgement via APRA Connect and D2A.
- Accounting Process for Member's accounts transactions and at fund level
- Industry experience within Financial Services. Superannuation and Investment management experience would be well regarded
- Thorough understanding of statutory and regulatory reporting requirements (of ASIC, APRA, ABS) for superannuation funds.
- Demonstrated knowledge and in-depth understanding of accounting systems, functions, finance and superannuation industry.

**Specialisations that will make an impact**
- Undergraduate degree (Accounting, Finance or Business preferred) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Postgraduate degree (Chartered Accounting or Certified Practicing Accountant preferred)
- Minimum of three years superannuation industry experience.
- Proficiency in Superannuation regulatory requirements preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, ambiguous environment.
- Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to interact successfully and build strong working relationships with various internal and external groups.
