**The Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Public Relations to join our team and help us amplify our message and mission to a wider audience. This is a position which will support and manage internal and external communications plans and strategies across the organisation. Reporting into the Executive Director, who has a positive management style and a forward-thinking mindset for this organisation. In addition to the management of the team and their delivery, the role will involve offering insightful advice to the ELT regarding process enhancements and strategic enhancements. It requires a Head of Public Relations to help with the following specific responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive public relations and corporate affairs strategy to increase awareness of our organisation, its mission, and its impact.
- Building and maintaining relationships with media outlets, journalists, and other external parties to secure coverage for our initiatives and events.
- Creating and distributing press releases, media alerts, and other communications materials to generate positive publicity.
- Coordinating and executing media events, press conferences, and other public relations activities.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop messaging and materials for various initiatives, including fundraising campaigns, advocacy efforts, and research projects.
- Managing the organisation's media channels, including creating and curating content and engaging with followers.
- Monitoring media coverage and providing regular reports to the Executive Director and other stakeholders.
- Managing the organisation's crisis communication plan and serving as a spokesperson when necessary.
This is a role which will allow an individual to put their communications and business partnering skills to the test in a positive and dynamic environment. This opportunity will see a well-rounded Communications Leader looking to further their career in a for purpose organisation.
**Your Profile**
You will be an individual with a strong background in Public Relations and Corporate Affairs. You must be able to demonstrate the highest levels of communication to stakeholders and be able to present written and visual communications to executive leadership. You should maintain the following criteria:
- Proven experience (minimum 7 years) in public relations, corporate affairs or communications, with a passion in ESG, sustainability or related areas.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing public relations and corporate affairs strategies that have led to increased awareness and positive coverage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in creating a wide range of materials, from press releases to social media posts.
- Strong media relations skills, with a network of contacts in relevant media outlets and an ability to pitch stories effectively.
- Experience in crisis communication, with an ability to manage issues and serve as a spokesperson when necessary.
You will have experience working within a vibrant, fast-paced environment and be a strong communicator who can present to senior executives. You will be comfortable liaising with business stakeholders and external consultancies at various levels and understand what their requirements are and how IT will enable strategic and commercial outcomes.
