Our client is a large QLD Government Department who has created a new role within their in-house legal team; Risk Advisory Manager (AO8). This is an opportunity to take your career to an exciting new level and make the role your own.

**About The Role**:

- Champion a positive risk management culture by actively building risk management performance and capability across Resources
- Provide expert advice consistent with international standards, industry best practice standards for risk management and the Resources’ Risk Management Framework to key stakeholders, internal governance committees and to senior executive and officers across the department to improve their risk management practices.
- Engage with, and maintain, effective relationships with executives, program and project managers and management stakeholders to identify emerging issues and risk trends, progress towards management treatments and controls and to recommend strategies that will enhance risk management outcomes.
- Develop and implement risk management training services, including the provision of facilitated workshops and targeted training for senior executive. senior officers, managers and risk specialists across Resources
- Utilise high-level written and verbal communication skills to present information in a clear, concise and articulate manner specifically in the development of briefs, submissions, presentations, reports, and information papers to communicate risks and issues strategically.
- Oversee the internal compliance function, ensuring effective monitoring, oversight and senior management decision making regarding compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and team members to demonstrably improve risk management capability and performance, integrate risk management into planning processes, and help ensure the successful achievement of business and strategic objectives.

**About You**:

- Well-developed communication, engagement and facilitation skills, exercised in ways that cater to differing levels of risk maturity.
- Demonstrated experience in building effective relationships with key stakeholders, senior executive and officers, with the ability to influence leaders.
- A sound understanding of linkages between planning and risk, including managing opportunities.
- Risk management qualifications or relevant experience working in strategic and operational risk management or similar roles in a large or complex organisation.

The opportunity is for an immediate start, up to 11 months work with the possibility of permanent employment.
