**A bit about the role**

As a Technical Officer Consents & Permits, you will be responsible for the provision of administrative and technical support for the Roads and Maintenance Department.

Each day may look a little different with you assessing and issuing consents and permits for works affecting Council roadways and easements, organising the repair/replacement of council owned street lighting or collating engineering data and issuing Legal Point of Discharge certificates.

**What you’ll do**
- Provide friendly and courteous customer service, responding to technical enquiries in accordance with established processes and procedures
- Undertake accurate record keeping using various manual and computer systems, which may include receipt and return of bonds, maintenance of systems and records and preparation of invoices
- Process routine and general correspondence as required
- Provide basic technical advice as required

**What you’ll bring**
- Current Victorian Drivers License
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Effective organizational skills and abilities to achieve specified outputs
- Demonstrated ability to manage own time effectively and contribute effectively to a team environment
- Ability to liaise, discuss and resolve problems with customers
- Experience in reading civil engineering plans (desirable)
- A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
