The key duties of the position include: The Role
As an APS 4 Print Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality print services in support of the whole of Defence.
You will be responsible for overseeing and basic administration of the print management system.
Your expertise in both wide format and short format printing will contribute to providing efficient and fit-for-purpose products for our stakeholders.
You will liaise with internal clients to clarify print requirements, provide technical advice on printing and file preparation, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in print processes.
The role will also involve providing training and guidance to other staff on the use of the print management system and best practices in print file preparation and workflow management.
The Workplace Environment Includes:

About our Team
The Directorate of Printing and Travel Services (DPTS) is the national service provider of print products for Defence.
We provide both in-house an outsourced printing for the Australian Defence Organisation, including the APS, Army, Navy and RAAF.
Providing a large variety of products including training manuals, banners, pamphlets, magazines, journals, maps, charts, doctrine and technical manuals.

You will work in a small agile team accountable for the delivery of a range of print products to internal stakeholders.
As part of this team you will be working to enhance the customer experience ensuring print task requests are fit-for-purpose and provide the most suitable outcome.
As part of this team you will be agile in your thinking, proactive in engaging with you peer network and stakeholders, as well as have the ability to actively identify opportunities for improvements to service delivery.
Our Ideal Candidate
DPTS are seeking an organised self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
They will have a strong customer focus, ability to support and train their peers, and work as part of a team supporting Defence with their technical knowledge and organisational skills.
The position requires a commitment to continuous improvement, and a positive attitude to change.
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled individual who:

Has experience overseeing or configuring print management systems.
Demonstrates an understanding of wide format and short format printing workflows.
Has an eye for detail to identify and resolve print file issues to ensure high-quality outputs.
Effectively liaises with customers to clarify requirements and manage expectations.
Can deliver training and guidance to staff on print processes and systems.
Works collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating initiative and accountability.
Will have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering customer-focused outcomes aligned with Defence values.

Eligibility Security Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Baseline Vetting" level.
