About the Role
In addition, it provides professional leadership within Gastroenterology including Interventional Endoscopy, and provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members and contribute to existing or develop own initiatives that aim to improve quality, efficiency or outcomes of services by appropriate quality improvement measures that include research.

**Services provided include**:

- Provides inpatient care for Gastroenterology & Hepatology patients, including participating in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology on-call roster for the management of gastroenterological emergencies and urgent medical problems of patients with digestive and liver diseases
- Undertakes elective and emergency procedures including:

- Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP),
- Diagnostic Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- Therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasound including cystgastrostomy and necrosectomy
- Balloon assisted enteroscopy
- Double balloon assisted ERCP for altered anatomy
- Endoscopic mucosal resection of colonic and upper gastrointestinal lesions
- Management of Barrett's oesophagus including Radio frequency ablation
- Provides inpatient consultations as requested
- Provides outpatient Gastroenterology & Hepatology consultations including management of pancreaticobiliary disorders and Barrett's Oesophagus
