Technical Officer

As a Technical Officer, your key responsibilities will include the following:

- Provide technical support, advice and recommendations to ensure the effective operations of teaching programs within the Environment business area.
- Allocate materials and resources, maintain outdoor teaching spaces, machinery and equipment to support the delivery of programs, drawing upon qualifications, knowledge and experience gained from the trades sector.
- Manage issues relating to occupational health and safety and respond to the procedures identified within government regulations, including supporting and facilitating safe workshop access and use for students and staff.
- Liaise regularly with other technicians to maintain standards and consistency of system operations.

**ABOUT YOU**

You are a highly motivated individual with experience delivering technical support of grounds and nursery maintenance. You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Your attention to detail and your interpersonal skills, in particular, being able to maintain quality customer relations and service standards are crucial.

You’ll be able to carry out hands-on technical activities using appropriate tools, have sound computer skills, including Microsoft and Adobe C.S and you’ll have a sound understanding of occupational health and safety issues in relation to materials, equipment and practices. Experience in stock control, basic financial control and data collection procedures is essential.

**Qualifications required for the role**
- Relevant vocational qualifications in a trade at a minimum of Certificate III
- Current Victorian Drivers licence
- Qualifications post trade and/or Work Health and Safety, a current forklift or skid steer/ heavy machinery licence desirable
