**About the role**

Join our team as an Operational Services Officer and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of laboratory services. Working under general direction, you will utilise your practical skills and knowledge to contribute to the effective and efficient operation of our laboratory. Your responsibilities will include venepuncture, specimen collection, courier runs, sorting and accessioning specimens, and accurate data entry. You will also assist with preparatory duties, storage, and transport of specimens in line with established protocols.

As the first point of contact for both internal and external customer enquiries, you will manage interactions with professionalism and care, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders. **About You**

We are looking for a detail-oriented and team-focused professional with a commitment to excellence in laboratory operations. You will bring strong organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to perform accurately under pressure. Key requirements include:

- **Skills and Attributes**: Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong commitment to customer service and effective problem-solving skills are essential.
- **Experience**: Relevant experience in pathology laboratory operations, including handling information systems and databases, and addressing customer enquiries in a professional manner.
- **Technical Knowledge**: Comprehensive understanding of pathology laboratory operations, medical terminology, and quality and regulatory standards. Familiarity with pathology-specific computer programs is desirable.
- **Workplace Readiness**: Proficient in using computers and associated software, with a strong focus on maintaining safety and adhering to Work Health and Safety practices.
