**The Opportunity**

With unprecedented growth in the region, Melton has committed significant investment in the construction of new building assets along with best practice maintenance of its existing portfolio of buildings and facilities, these are utilised to deliver Councils’ services to the Community as well as those from third party and other providers.

This role provides an opportunity to coordinate the ongoing development and growth of the maintenance services team tasked with the delivery of operational services, these include programmed maintenance, functionality inspections and on-site triage of escalated incidents to support the work of the Front-Line services desk.

The position reports to the Property Services Coordinator working as part of the Operations Service Unit under the Planning and Development directorate.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Establish best practice maintenance services through research, benchmarking and monitoring of industry and local trends to identify continuous improvement opportunities and for input into minor capital and other project works.
- Oversee and support Council’s proactive and reactive maintenance works to ensure delivery of specified targets, objectives, OHS compliance, risk management and budget expenditure.
- Plan, implement and schedule routine functionality inspections to proactively identify and rectify faults and hazards. Review and report on activity to identify trends for further analysis.
- Supervise and support the ongoing development of the In-house Services team’s focus on improvement to processes, procedures, skill sets, both individually and collectively for the overall performance of the team.
- Supervise the administration of Trade and Specialist service contracts relating to reactive and proactive maintenance activity.

**About you**
- Tertiary qualification at degree or diploma level with several years of relevant work experience in either Facility Management, Customer service, Project Management or Building maintenance; or lessor qualification with extensive experience commensurate with the role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and adhere to expenditure targets for a managed program.
- Proven experience in understanding of financial reporting and cost control requirements for project and contract managements.
- Expert understanding of the principles and practices of a wide variety of building construction techniques, componentry, functionality and maintenance tasks, including the ability to capture and analyse data, reports and research to identify salient issues and trends.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
