**About the role**

The **Corporate Communications Manager** role sits within the **Customer Experience and Communications** division and offers an exciting opportunity to shape the City of Melbourne’s news and editorial agenda. You'll lead strategic storytelling that positions Melbourne as a city of choice to live, work, study, do business or visit.

A key focus will be coordinating content across a forward calendar in collaboration with media and social teams - including speechwriting, resident and business communications, and exploring new channels to amplify our message. Strong audience insight and strategic use of emerging platforms will be essential.

- Lead content strategy and development for all corporate and consumer-facing channels.
- Providing speechwriting and strategic communications advice to the CEO, Lord Mayor and Councillors.
- Lead a small, high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and constructive culture while integrating communications efforts across the branch.

**About you**

You are an all-rounder communicator and can be persuasive and to tailor communication messages to achieve a desired outcome. You have the ability to lead and adapt to the diverse needs of stakeholders within a complex and pressured environment is essential.

**Key selection criteria - what you will bring to the role**
- A tertiary qualification in Journalism, Communications or Policy with substantial relevant experience.
- Proven experience in a similar role - with strong skills in writing, editing, researching and producing content across both print and digitial channels.
- Demonstrated ability to develop high-quality communications materials from concept through to delivery - with an integrated, strategic approach.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to guide and support others in creating effective content.
