**The Sustainable Procurement Officer assists the Council in continuing its important journey in monitoring and reporting on sustainable procurement practices and in further educating internal and external stakeholders to consider social and environmental procurement initiatives offered.**

**You will join a vibrant and committed finance and procurement unit and work with other like
- minded individuals who are also passionate about building both sustainable procurement practices into the work that they undertake on behalf of the organisation.**

**This position is within Finance and Procurement, which provides accounting, budgeting, financial statement preparation, revenue collection, procurement, payroll, and accounts payable functions within Council.**

**About the Role**:

- **Assist in the promotion of the importance of sustainable procurement with Council staff and key stakeholders, including suppliers and external parties.**:

- **Assist with the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a sustainable procurement framework for Council.**:

- **Maintain and update the Sustainable Procurement toolkit.**:

- **Undertake an analysis of Banyule’s spending categories to understand the opportunity for sustainable procurement sourcing decisions.**:

- **Assist with the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and controlled documents.**:

- **Monitor performance and measure achievements towards identified sustainable KPIs and timelines and produce written reports as required.**:

- **Assist to cover other Strategic Procurement Team member’s role in their absence.**:

- **Provide guidance to Council staff throughout Council on their responsibilities relating to sustainable procurement when undertaking procurement activities.**:

- **Work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including cross-team collaboration on sociably responsible and sustainable procurement practices at Council.**

**Skills, experience and certificates**:

- Relevant experience in any of Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) or procurement practices is an advantage.
- Understanding of sustainability, aggregated procurement and agency arrangements.
- Ability to liaise effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
