**The Role**
Your duties as an APS 6 Data Officer in the Estate Data Management team would include:

- Supervision of a data management team, ensuring effective prioritisation and coordination of workloads.
- Provide management and secretariat support to the assistant director as required.
- Oversight of the creation and maintenance of compliant Estate data for Services and Asset Management throughout the Estate Lifecycle.
- Maintaining a high level of internal and external stakeholder engagement in relation to complex data and information needs
- Improving reporting outcomes through innovative thinking and implementing best practice business intelligence concepts.
- Identifying connections between systems and data (mainly structured data sets) and working on new ways to simplify, automate and standardise key processes.
- Assessing, evaluating and supporting information management strategy, initiatives, projects, policy and procedures, and engaging in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the preparation of briefings and communications materials

**About our Team**
Security and Estate Group (SEG) is responsible for providing infrastructure and associated support services to in excess of 90,000 ADF and civilian staff. Service Delivery Division provides essential, on-the-ground services and support to Defence personnel around Australia.

The Directorate of Estate Information Systems Governance (DEISG) within Base Service Transformation and Estate Data Systems Branch brings together the streams of work focused on achieving strong, productive and pragmatic governance and transformation of the Estate information systems.DEISG Director additionally holds the roles of Group Information Steward and Estate Group Point of Contact.

Together these roles ensure that our priorities are collaboratively aligned with the strategic direction of the enterprise. DEISG’s data management team maintains estate data to ensure it is accurate and consistent through:

- Create and maintain estate data,
- Establish and maintain estate data governance,
- Validate technical data compliance with estate data systems,
- Deliver estate data supply services,
- Identify and communicate estate data quality issues,
- Provide guidance on estate data management and modelling, and
- Engage with stakeholders to facilitate estate information management.
