**About the role**
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering council’s Facilities Maintenance public toilet replacement program, coordinate minor projects both in maintenance and administrative zones and other works when required to support the team.
**Work type: Temporary Full-time 12 months**
**Classification**: Band 6 ($90,263-$97,365 pa plus super)
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key partners and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Engage, supervise and audit contractors in a professional manner to complete approved building and minor capital works.
- Ensure that Council’s building assets and services are maintained in an efficient, safe, clean and operational condition.
- Development of documents to assist in construction and maintenance fields.
- Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace for Contractors working on council assets at your direction.
- Participate in the call out roster over a designated 7-day period servicing out of hours call outs.
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have a Tertiary qualification and/or Trade qualification with several years’ experience in the field or lessor formal qualifications with extensive experience in a similar position and a sound understanding of the relevant OH&S legislation and staff/contractor management.
Essential Experience:
- Knowledge of Local Government's role, responsibility and challenges and its relationships with other government departments and the-community.
- Must hold WHS/OHS recognised qualification min cert 4 - to enable site auditing and supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in developing high quality documentation and correspondence showing clear understanding of audience and the objectives of the communication.
- High level of experience in construction project management principles.
- Ability to plan and drive work through to completion within tight deadlines and budgets.
- Experience in engaging with stakeholders and undertaking consultation to meet project requirements.
- Current red/white card - basic construction induction card.
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
