**About the Role**

This important role in the Premier’s Implementation Unit supports NSW’s efforts to improve the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.

The role is responsible for establishing and leading a data function to support the NSW Closing the Gap Partnership.

Working with Government agencies and the Coalition of Aboriginal Peak Organisations, the Associate Director - Closing the Gap will produce outputs to facilitate data-informed decision making across the 17 socio-economic targets of the Closing the Gap agreement.

**About the Team**

The Premier’s Implementation Unit (PIU) works closely with agencies to deliver the Premier’s key commitments (the Premier’s Priorities) and the Closing the Gap commitments. We do this by providing skills and tools to support implementation and monitor progress towards targets. We work collaboratively with agencies to identify challenges and solutions, extract insights from data, work with people on the frontline and analyse systems and services.
- Experience using data to drive implementation of reform/strategic initiatives.
- Experience establishing reporting mechanisms that support Executive/Ministerial decision making
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with data custodians and working in multifaceted partnerships.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present data insights in ways that are suitable for diverse audiences.

Knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is highly regarded.
