Several years ago, the business undertook a strategic shift to become more data-focused. As a result, they have created new systems to provide new data services and products internally and externally. As a result, you can play a significant part in their drive to become a more data-focused business.

The growing data governance team sits within Technology and Security Governance and reports to the Senior Manager - Data Governance. This role has no reports.

The business operates with critical data and has a high trust bond with its clients. As a result, the security of the data is paramount to the company and its reputation.

Data governance is not the 'data police'. Your role is to partner with the business/data owners to advise and support them in protecting their data.

You will also be essential in the upcoming enterprise data management tool selection.

Hybrid home/office working is available.

Typical activities include

Helping to foster a culture of data ownership and stewardship and appointing 'data champions.'

Data discovery, cataloguing and meta-tagging.

Establishing controls for PII (Personally Identifiable Information)

Working with data SMEs for the discovery and remediation of data quality issues

Implementation of data management processes covering data quality, data discovery, data lineage and build-up of metadata management.

Facilitating workshops to support the 'data champions'
